Those of you who have been following my blog know my never ending love for pizzas. Last year in July I had reviewed The Ground Baking Co. already (https://bellykanungo.wordpress.com/2016/07/23/what-my-belly-had-at-the-groundbaking-co-indore/) You can have a look at the location, the pizza sizes that they offer and (not to forget to) read the review of their very famous Blueberry Cheesecake in this last blog review.
Talking about the place, the basic reason for loving this place is for their thin crust, super cheesy large pizzas, which you don’t find anywhere else in Indore. I along with my fellow bloggers from the Indore Bloggers Association were invited to taste some of the new pizza’ that Chef and Owner Mr Prasun Jain had especially innovented (innovation + invention) for the reviewing and adding in their menu thereafter.
We were also given a tour of their kitchen area where everything is made – from lip smacking pizzas to devouring desserts. Chef Prasun also introduced us to some of the new cheeses and Mushrooms like Emmenthal cheese and Black Fungus Mushrooms. We also tasted the cheeses and their two essential pizza base sauces – Basil Pesto with Walnut sauce and the traditional Tomato sauce.
5 Cheese Pizza – Mozzarella, Gouda, Emmenthal, Cheddar and Parmesan
I believe, a pizza without cheese is like a dal makhani without makkhan. This pizza is like the 2x better version of a margherita pizza. This pizza is a great option for all those,
a) who are cheese lovers
b) who don’t like toppings on their pizza
c) who don’t like a spicy pizza
d) who are looking for a pizza for their kids
Greek Pizza is a combination of black olives, spinach, walnuts, feta & mozzarella cheese, artichokes and is topped with fennel. I am a feta cheese lover, so this pizza was a nicely put up pizza for me. Though, it was quite salty because of the cheese’ and olives. If worked on the salt-factor, this pizza is a must try over here. Salty Affair!
Couch Potato Pizza
I have never had a potato pizza before. This is one pizza which surprised me the most and I highly recommend having it for sure. The oven roasted rosemary potatoes give a tangy-sweet taste when infused with onions, emmenthal cheese, topped with Balsamic Reduction. The Chef made us taste two kinds of couch potato pizza’ – one with smoked paparika and another without it. I loved both of them, it’s just that the smoked paparika one is slightly spicy comparatively. Patato Potaato! 😀
Trio of Mushrooms Pizza – Button, Shitake and Black Fungus Mushrooms
If you haven’t tried the black fungus mushrooms before just like me, I would highly suggest you guys to first taste and gain knowledge about these mushrooms and then only order this pizza as the black fungus has an overpowering smokey taste which not everyone would like. The three mushrooms are tossed together in a buttered pan with olive oil and garlic, which is why it has a smokey flavour in the pizza. The ricotta on the top and baked mozarella go perfectly with this one but this pizza is not something that I would like to eat again and again. If you are a die hard mushroom lover, do try this pizza once. Smokey!!!
This was the last but not the least kinda pizza! It was so good looking at a glance that it literally brought a sense of freshness and colors on our table. Bianco Pizza is a Jewish Pizza which has a cream cheese sauce layer as the base with smoked paparika, button mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, fennel, citrus vinaigrette dressed rocket leaves and which is lastly topped with parmesan cheese. It is a super cheesy, super healthy and a mouth flavouring pizza with a soft pizza crust just like a peta bread. My two thumbs to this one!
This french recipe is also popularly know as the burnt caramel cream or the trinity cream as it has a rich vanilla custard base topped with a layer of hard burnt caramel. The creamy dessert was hands down my favourite thing in their menu. Although I am more of a chocolate lover than a caramel one, yet I can any day have this dessert over any chocolate dessert. The best part is the caramalization of the sugar with a butane torch right before the serving. Heavenly!
On the occassion of one of our bloggers Rakesh Dawani crossing a 100k mark on his instagram account, the chef exclusively made a three milk and berries cake which was fresh, fab and fruity at the same time. Cake Attack! 😀

- Do not bring ketchup or ask for it because having pizzas with ketup is against their policy
- Closed every Tuesday
- Closed between 3:30 – 5:30 pm
- Pizzas available in 12” 16” and 20”
- Too many stray dogs outside the gate so BEWARE 😉
